SHOW NOTES ANSWERED QUESTIONS
Eric

What are some good tricks to help an amateur see more photographically other than just shooting

Lori Sykes, Calgary

For both Peter and Matt – what instances in your own photography have you felt a spiritual connection, does it always have to be profound, I’ve sometimes found the biggest connection during the most insignificant events such as a bee feeding on a flower

Justin Bates from Toronto

Do you think it is possible to capture something as esoteric as stillness with your camera? Or is it that stillness or inner awareness is something that needs to present in the photographer first?

Justin Bates from Toronto

Justin here again – I also wonder what role the viewer of the photographer plays, if they can recognise the stillness.

Show notes still have to be added.

Short, sweet, to the point, FREE-exactly as inforamiton should be!

You had said certain images make you feel as a human like you have a place in this world, Matt, do you think this is a common motivation for people in art, we are looking for comfort and for an element we can related to?

Sue Erikson from NM

Matt – what is the relationship between resistance to what is, for example being annoyed at bad weather when you want to shoot – and getting good images. Can you comment on the saying what you resist, persists?

Pete

I think you can still be a “hunter” type shooter (excuse the word choice) and if you don’t see the shot, you can always put it down and enjoy the environment rather than just shooting to shoot.

Karen Simpson, NYC

Great point Matt – I never thought about the “words” we use about the action of photography – I think I will start using your words now of creating or making images – THANKS!
