SHOW NOTES ANSWERED QUESTIONS
Lawrence from Calgary

Can you give us a preview of the upcoming update?

Nathaniel Myers, LA

Greg, do you think there will be a move towards building cameras that are more artful rather than just the standard plastic DSLRs that are produced today. I would love to see pro cameras look nicer frankly, instead of the standard black plastic look.

Esther, Berlin

What is the quality of video this camera shoots

xcaliber

Greg, can you speak to the issue of “writing to card lockup time”

john d

Are you guys coming out with an all black model?

Ken in NYC

i love the camera but waiting on accessories. any word on when the cases, lens hoods and lens adapters might get stocked up?

Luca Mozzali

When you guys first thought about building this camera, who did you design it for specifically ie target market. It is definitely a camera that older guys like me find appealing!

Alex from Houston Texas

Seeing that the X100 has been such a huge success, I’m sure you have heard plenty of feedback on the quirks the firmware has shown. With that beeing said, what is the biggest complain you have seen and what do you plan on doing on correcting this issue

How could any of this be betetr stated? It couldn’t.

I’d be interested in hearing the “back story” on the X100. It seems pretty clear that there was an “A” team that designed the body, the main exposure controls, and the hybrid viewfinder. It’s also pretty clear that the “A” team wasn’t involved with the digital controls (the teensy multi-controller on the back), or the firmware, both of which are quite simply awful. Obviously there’s a story there, which would be fascinating. Did management pull the “A” team off the job, and hand the digital side over to the in-house compact point and shoot department because the “A” team went over budget? Did the key person on the “A” team quit or get re-assigned? How did it happen that such a great design got ruined by hacks? I don’t see Fujifilm’s management wanting the back-story to get out, but I see a great story there!

Congratulation Greg Poole on a great product. Hope you read this and if not Peter please comment it to Greg. Fuji, please do not plan for a x200 (and if you have to not in 6 months!). It would be great if we could have this one camera for the rest of our lives, just like my father had his for more that 40 years, then handed it to me. Just dreaming in this consumer crazy world, but when do you have the chance to talk to the people that make it happen. Maybe you could sell maintenance packages to keep them mint. Thanks again.

I know you can’t answer this question do I’ll make a statement. Please introduce an X100-like challenger to the Leica M9 – so similar form factor but interchangeable lens with a set of different primes. So many of us are looking for an affordable and autofocus alternative to the M9.

Also don’t make the sensor smaller if you do so (i.e. M4/3rds)

Thanks,
Max

When will there be ample supply of cameras available?

Laurie from Toronto

I’d love the auto focus to be faster : )

eric

I don’t know what it is about this camera but I just love owning it, even when it is just on the shelf!
