Looking back at the Jerez testsAs the dusk falls at Jerez, Spain, bringing to an end the first F1 test session of the new season, Episode 56 looks back at the past four days of intense development work by the major teams. Craig Scarborough will be giving us his impressions of the new Ferrari F2012, Sauber C31, Torro Rosso STR7 and Williams FW34 and will also be talking about a hot technical topic of 2012 - roll-hoops. We also recorded the thoughts of Renault's Rob White on how the Championship-winning engine builders are facing the task of supplying four teams. We reported live from Jerez at the start of the week, on Episode 55; today's show brings the Jerez test to a conclusion. |

Scarbs is great, but is it possible (with your working relationship with Williams) to have Patrick Head to do the same a technical commentary on this years cars?
Peter you are the best with your stories and memories. That long-haired chubby Nascar dude on Speed can learn a lot from you (no, not Hubbs or the English engineer).
WHAT DO we get from testing? Is it just a “system-check” event or can we actually get comparison results (Renault will compete, Ferrari is the same, Red Bull continues….)?
With mercedes running using the 2011 cars for tyre testing.will the 2012 car abuse the tyres more.?
hey peter are you going to come to melbourne
What was/is your favorite engine formula in F1 over the years?
Was Jenson Button the fastest car at the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix and would he have won the race without DRS.
Yes Peter, agree w/ your comments on passing and drs and everything you just said! YES!
DRS and Peter
Do you think that the financial controls that FOTA members have to follow, and non members don’t will cause a two tier system.
Hello Peter
Do the cars look harder to drive. With out the blown diffuser. Do the cars sound like F1 car should sound before the blown diffuser.
What do you think of the fact that Rubens Barrichello is not at an F1 session for the first time in 20 years? it seems strange and hard to get used to :( Have you spoken to Rubens and could you shed any light on his future, thanks :)
Even with the limited testing now credit is due to teams on how reliable cars are now! Hoping the new engines and rules give them a challenge so the big guns don’t always finish to give the underdogs a chance!
This transmission of the flying lap is much improved feed compaired to the one from Jerez. My pipe may have been clogged but I have to belive part of it was what Jerez offered for a connection.
